Countdown to Post & Go V2~New Stamp, New Labels and Checkout!

The Post Office have confirmed that the preparations required to introduce the new products and services to the existing Post and Go machines has now been completed.

Once ‘V2’ has been activated then the Post and Go machines will offer new products and services, including the facility to process Special Delivery, Recorded Signed For and Parcelforce Worldwide products both inland and overseas. They will also offer a ‘Retail Checkout’ function allowing for the payment of packaging items such as Jiffy bags and packaging Tape etc via the Post & Go machine.

Font upgrade- Almost complete, but not quite.

The upgrade to the smaller font to all Post and Go machines is complete, but some upgrades have been more successful than others, with some stubbornly refusing to change font. Shown is a example of Cambridge kiosk No.1 with ‘corrupted’ printing, which has been seen at Bristol and other locations.    

Newly discovered -Harlow Post and Go Error -Feb 2011

This error came from the Harlow Post Office Post & Go machine, which had the Birds II stamps in it for ONLY FOUR DAYS  in February 2011!! Birds 3 Post and Go faststamps to go nationwide!

The third set of Faststamps depicting birds will be issued on 19 May, one of three sets to be issued this year. As before, these will be sold from Post & Go machines at selected Post Offices across the UK and from the Philatelic Bureau at Tallents House. The third set depicts the birds that can be found on or close to Britain’s lakes, rivers and streams.
Post & Go terminals allow customers to weigh their letters and packets, pay for and print postage labels and stamps without the need to visit the counter. The first Post & Go machine was trialled in The Galleries Post Office® in Bristol in 2007.

The labels can be obtained with 5 different service indicators: 1st class & 1st class Large up to 100gr, Europe up to 20gr, Worldwide up to 10gr and 20gr, singly or in strips of up to 5 of the same value or various values. Thus there are 30 different value/design combinations in total.
